Stalder Academy of Dance and the Performing Arts was founded in 2006 by principal Marina Stalder.

Originally from Lucerne, Switzerland, and inspired by her mother who was a ballet dancer and her Olympic Gold Medallist grandfather, Marina set out to create a place of excellent training in a nurturing and positive environment.

As well as being a Licentiate Teacher with the IDTA and affiliate member of the RAD, Marina continues her training under the guidance of Miss Barbara Sharples. She is also on the BSICA committee, which is a choreographic award for young teachers.

Since it's inception, Stalder Academy students have performed in venues all over the UK and abroad. Maintaining a 100% exam pass rate, many students gain High Honours and nominations for both IDTA Theatre Awards and Freestyle Scholarships.

The Academy's own festival team consistently perform well in competitions across all age groups, and have successfully and consistently reached the All England Dance Finals

Students are also currently associates with both the Royal Ballet School and Elmhurst Ballet School.

Past students have gained places at renowned professional training schools such as Elmhurst Ballet school, Laine Theatre Arts, SLP College and Phil Winston's Theatreworks to name but a few.

Each year Stalder Academy are proud to work with QDOS Pantomimes in providing the Juvenile Chorus for Manchester's flagship Panto at the Opera House.

Over the last decade, Stalder Academy has established itself as a centre of excellence for all theatre subjects, and also offers classes such as acrobatics, voice, drama, commercial, PBT and regular workshops with leading industry professionals. Stalder Gymnastics is the latest addition to the timetable and we are proud to be a registered club with British Gymnastics.

Offering classes for both the beginner 'once a week' student as well as  serious theatre students, our aim is to release each individual's potential no matter what their end goal is.
