Josef (Sepp) Stalder
Josef Stalder was a Swiss gymnast and Olympic Champion, born on the 6th February 1919. He competed at the 1948 Summer Olympics in London where he received a gold medal in horizontal bar, a silver medal in teamcombined exercises and a bronze medal in parallel bars. He went on to receive four medals at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki. He was also the name giver of the Stalder circles, which is now a very common skill on both the high and uneven bars.
